Agency (EPA) have created a great deal of uncertainty for fleet operators. These evolving emissions rules and mandates are not only further complicating regulatory compliance; they&#8217;re also making it increasingly difficult to purchase diesel trucks in states that adhere to these regulations.<\/p>\n<p>To discuss the latest policy changes and how they may impact fleet operators, Holman&#8217;s Joe Korn recently spoke with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.automotive-fleet.com\/10237232\/why-its-getting-harder-to-buy-diesel-trucks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Automotive Fleet<\/em><\/a>\u00a0to share his insight.<\/p>\n<p>In the article, Joe discussed the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule which requires manufacturers to meet a minimum percentage of zero-emission vehicle sales in California (and other states that also adhere to the regulation). As a result, the availability of diesel trucks in these states is often tied to electric vehicles to some extent. Further complicating the matter is the fact that not all diesel engines meet CARB&#8217;s 2024 compliance standards.
